<![CDATA[HCDO County and League]]>Sun, 19 Jul 2015 18:10:36 GMThttp://hertsdarts.weebly.com/news/hcdo-county-and-leagueAt the HCDO Annual General Meeting the only significant change was that John Creed was appointed the new Chairman for the County and the Men's League replacing the late Derek Bayliss.
There were no other changes.
In the Ladies League it was a disappointment that Hatfield Ladies have withdrawn from the Ladies League leaving just Six teams for the coming season.
Another change in the Ladies league the points system as been changed from two points for a win to all games to count (Best Of Nine Games ) with a bonus point for a win.
Welwyn Bees have now moved their venue to Sawbridgeworth Social Club and will play as Sawbridgeworth.
There was no changes in the Men's apart from Watford rejoining the League bringing the number of teams up to 14.
Waltham Cross have relocated to Barnet and are now called Hadley.

Diary of Events and the new Fixtures for both the Ladies and Men's Leagues are now on line.

<![CDATA[HCDO County]]>Wed, 03 Jun 2015 18:53:37 GMThttp://hertsdarts.weebly.com/news/june-03rd-2015 After three very good wins over Buckinghamshire, Humberside and Montgomery & Radnor Hertfordshire found themselves at the top of the Overall Promotion Table two points clear of Cumbria and four points clear of Worcestershire as the team travelled to Redditch there was a great deal of optimism in the final game of the season
needing a draw to ensure promotion.
On Saturday the Ladies gave us a great start with a 4-2 win gained by Debbie Essam who won the match award with a 3-0 win, Linda Reed 3-1, Janet Driscoll 3-2 and Vicky Rannow 3-1.
The Men's team playing a team unbeaten this season gave an excellent performance to win 7-5 with wins by David Pinnuck 3-2, Wayne Dawson 3-2, Wayne Stubbings 3-0, match award winner Peter Brown 3-1, John Creed 3-1, Eron Walkes 3-0 and Lee White 3-2.
This gave us a 11-7 overall lead at halfway going int Sunday's games.
It did not start to well as the Ladies lost the first four games to bring the overall scores level but Jodie Alligan with a match award 3-1 win over their top player and a 3-0 win by Jane Phillips gave us a two point lead it was now up to the Men's team.
Not to be outdone the Men's team also lost the first four games before match award winner Ian Clarkson won 4-1 followed by Tony Cox winning 4-1 this brought the overall scores level once again, we had now six games to go but the only player to play well was Chris Hudson who won 4-3.
A day that started so promisingly ended up a disaster was it nerves, pressure or some other outcome to only require seven games and only score five is really not good enough for a team at the top of the League so promotion that looked like a foregone conclusion just faded away.
<![CDATA[HCDO Youth]]>Wed, 03 Jun 2015 18:02:58 GMThttp://hertsdarts.weebly.com/news/hcdo-youth Congratulations go to the Youth team for winning the Eastern Division of the Northern Youth Darts Organisation.
After the Home win against Leicestershire the Youth team then travelled to to play their final game of the season away to Leicestershire a 11-3 win was enough to give them the Overall Division title.
Pride of place must go to the Under 21 Ladies who won all of their eight games they played with only giving away eight legs in those games a great performance all round. Well done Ladies.
Both the U/18's and the U/21 Males both finished second but the final League Tables still have to be published.
Against Leicestershire the U/18s won 4-2 with wins for Jarred Cole 2-1 with a 24.21 average and the match award, Stephen Beattie 2-1, Harry Feenstra 2-0 and Georgia Stern also 2-0.
The U/21 Ladies won 3-0 with wins for Sammie Jeffreys 2-0, Stacie Pinnuck 2-1 and Danielle Fry 2-0 with a 17.89 average and the match award.

A successful day for the Youth Team. Well done to everybody who played.
